Every color has a beginning. Ours began in 1945.
On June 6, CHROTEX was founded by Vasilios Nikologiannis and Georgios Tsiboukis, at a time when rebuilding meant far more than constructing buildings—it stood for vision, optimism, and faith in the future. From the very beginning, color for us was not just a product, but a way to shape spaces and everyday experiences.
In 1954, the company made its first major investment with the creation of its privately owned factory in Tavros. Just two years later, CHROTEX left a lasting mark on the Greek paint industry by introducing ARTEX, the first plastic paint in Greece—a true turning point for the sector.
In 1963, expansion began with the construction of a second production facility in Aspropyrgos. During the 1960s, CHROTEX gained international recognition, earning quality awards and opening the path to exports, starting with Switzerland. Greek expertise in color was now crossing borders.
Over the decades, CHROTEX continued to evolve. New branches, international partnerships, and ongoing technological investments strengthened its presence in Greece and abroad. With a steadfast commitment to innovation, the company was among the first in the industry to introduce Chromasystem—an advanced color-matching system that brought precision, creativity, and endless possibilities to professionals and consumers alike.
